West Palm Beach, FL (May 22, 2021) – A man was killed Friday evening, May 21, when he was hit by a car as he crossed a street near Century Village in West Palm Beach, police said.
Authorities say that 37-year-old Thomas Cofer was crossing Okeechobee Boulevard at Meridian Road, located between Century Village and Plantation Mobile Home Park, around 9:37 p.m. At that time, a 2007 Saturn Vue traveling westbound on Okeechobee hit him, deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
The collision threw Cofer to the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be involved, though the investigation is ongoing.
