Vero Beach, FL (September 16, 2021) – Authorities in Vero Beach are investigating the circumstances of a serious auto accident that happened on Thursday morning, September 16.
EMS units say one person sustained serious injuries in the two-vehicle crash. Police added that the wreck briefly blocked 66th Avenue.
An initial report released by Florida Highway Patrol troopers indicated that the collision occurred between a white Chevy and a white Dodge Ram around 6:30 a.m. in the 800 block of 66th Avenue. The area is located south of State Road 60, FHP spokesperson Lt. Yanko Reyes said.
Paramedics transported the seriously injured victim to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce by ambulance, Reyes said.
The collision closed all lanes in the immediate area, though roadways reopened by noon, Reyes stated.
Authorities in Fort Pierce County continue to investigate the circumstances of the wreck.
