Sanford, FL (July 11, 2021) – Two people were killed and four were injured on Sunday, July 11th in a car accident on Interstate 4 in Sanford.
A 64-year-old man from Deltona was traveling eastbound on Interstate 4 in the area of State Road 46 at about 1:00 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a guardrail.
The car then veered back onto the highway where it collided with a pick-up truck heading in the same direction.
His passenger, a 57-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver was transported by paramedics to Central Florida Regional Hospital, where he passed away due to his injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 38-year-old man from Jacksonville, and his three passengers all sustained non-critical injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
