Opa-Locka, FL (June 10, 2021) – Authorities in Opa-Locka are currently investigating a serious auto accident that involved multiple vehicles on the afternoon of June 8. At around 2:00 p.m., the incident was reported to officials who were sent to the scene in order to assist those involved.
The wreck was reported to have taken place near Northwest 42nd Avenue where Douglas Road and LeJeune meet. Officials with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the crash scene where they found six people who had been involved.
Two were rushed to local medical centers by ambulance and three others received treatment from paramedics at the scene. One person was taken as a trauma alert, according to police.
Three vehicles were badly damaged at the scene, according to various sources. Authorities continue to investigate the events that led to the crash.
Delays in traffic were observed in the vicinity of Douglas Road on Northwest 42nd Street for an extended time period after the wreck took place. Responders urged local motorists to find alternate travel routes for the time being.
