Macclenny, FL (September 26, 2021) – Two people died and another was injured during a two-car accident on Friday, September 24th in Baker County.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a blue Mercury Grand Marquis occupied by two men, 48 and 32-years-old, was heading southbound on County Road 23A. For reasons still under investigation, the car crossed over the centerline and into the path of a gold Ford F150 pick-up truck being driven by a 23-year-old male.

The right side of the car collided with the front left of the truck, causing both vehicles to spin into the ditch on the shoulder of the road. 

Both the driver and passenger in the Mercury died at the scene. Their names have not been released pending family notification.

The driver of the Ford sustained non-critical injuries during the impact. 

This accident is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
