Dania Beach, FL (April 22, 2021) – A motorcyclist has lost their life following an accident in Dania Beach. According to information from officials, Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are currently investigating the circumstances of a crash that took the life of Joseph Anthony Babin III, age 52, of Port St Lucie.
Preliminary investigations show that at approximately 4:50 a.m. on the morning of April 15, 46-year-old Brian Belmonti of Hollywood was headed west on Griffin Road in his 2020 Chevrolet Blazer. He was turning left to go south on I-95 when he struck the side of a motorcycle being driven by Babin.
Due to the force of the collision, Babin was ejected from his bike. The Blazer stopped I-95’s entrance ramp. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue units were called to assist at the scene. Babin was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased by medical professionals.
Belmonti stayed at the crash scene in order to cooperate with authorities and render aid. Police in Dania Beach continue to investigate the details of the incident.
