Broward County, FL (April 12, 2021) – A stretch of Interstate 95 was closed in Broward County on Monday morning due to a fatal traffic accident. On April 11, at approximately 7:15 a.m., authorities and EMTs were dispatched to the scene of a fatal crash on I-95.
According to local officials, the crash occurred in the southbound lanes of the interstate near Hallandale Beach Boulevard during Monday morning rush hour traffic. Reports show that the incident involved a motorcycle, an SUV, and a sedan.
The motorcyclist was transported from the scene to an area hospital via ambulance with critical injuries. They later lost their life. Their identity has not been disclosed at this time.
All southbound lanes of the interstate were closed while responders worked to secure the scene of the collision. The right lane was reopened just before 9:00 a.m. on April 12. The entire highway was not reopened until after 10:00 a.m.
