North Lauderdale, FL – Four Killed in Two-Car Crash on Bailey Rd near Rock Island Rd

North Lauderdale, FL (May 31, 2021) – A two-car crash ended the lives of four individuals on the afternoon of Saturday, May 29. At approximately 3:28 p.m., police and paramedics responded to the scene.

According to reports, the wreck occurred on Bailey Road near Rock Island Road when a 2017 Nissan Rogue was headed west on Bailey Road. The vehicle was approaching the intersection with Rock Island Road at the same time as a 2013 Toyota Camry was headed east on Bailey Road.

The Camry was attempting to turn to head north on Rock Island when the Rogue struck the front passenger side of it. The impact forced the Rogue to rotate and slide across the road, onto the sidewalk, and into a concrete wall.

Responders with North Lauderdale Fire and Rescue along with other emergency crews were called to assist at the scene. Three were pronounced deceased on-site while a fourth was transported to Broward Health Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

The Camry’s driver was transported to a nearby medical center where she received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The police in North Lauderdale continue to investigate.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased at this time.

Fatal Accidents in Florida

Traffic accidents in Florida occur thousands of times per day, causing numerous injuries and taking the lives of thousands of people. According to statistics compiled concerning the daily accident rate in the Sunshine State, there are over 1,000 traffic collisions that occur in Florida per day. Yearly, the state sees more than 400,000 collisions take place. This is thousands more than any other state in the nation. This may be partially due to the high population, as well as the high tourism rate in Florida. More people, unfortunately, means more traffic accidents.

Serious motor vehicle crashes that result in injuries for those involved often require victims to undergo extensive medical treatment. This can include emergency surgeries and lengthy hospital stays. These procedures are never cheap and can cost accident victims a fortune.
