Miramar, FL (April 23, 2021) – A female passenger on a moped lost her life on the morning of Friday, April 22 in Miramar, according to officials. The male driver of the moped was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in critical condition.
The incident happened just after 3:30 a.m. on County Line Road in the westbound lanes near Florida’s Turnpike. How and why the crash happened remains unknown at this time.
Police in Miramar stated that a white Kia Forte was traveling west when it hit the moped. The Kia then drove over the center median and into the eastbound lanes of travel before stopping against a guardrail.
The woman on the moped at the time of the crash was pronounced deceased at the scene.
County Line Road was closed in both directions for the duration of the investigation. Our thoughts are with everyone involved.
