Key Biscayne, FL (August 14, 2021) – Two bicyclists required transportation to the hospital after they were hit by a vehicle in Key Biscayne sometime last week. The wreck happened on Crandon Boulevard and the driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid or wait for police.
Two men were riding in the bike lane along Crandon Boulevard, both avid bicyclists. They stated that they were struck from behind and left to fend for themselves when the vehicle sped off.
The incident was reported to authorities in the area who promptly attended the scene. Both men were transported to area medical centers where they were treated for serious injuries. They were identified as Conrad Gomez and Gabriel Larrea. Gomez suffered a broken clavicle in multiple spots while Larrea’s lower body suffered serious injuries.
They both are expected to make full recoveries. Authorities in Key Biscayne continue to investigate the details of the accident.
