Fort Lauderdale, FL (October 7, 2021) – An auto accident took place in Fort Lauderdale on the afternoon of October 7 that required a response from local emergency crews. The wreck was reported to officials in the area at around 4:45 p.m.
Sources indicate that the collision occurred on Interstate 595 East just before exit 10A, I-95 North. The crash caused the blockage of three left lanes of the interstate for some time on the afternoon of October 7.
Emergency crews including police, EMTs, and firefighters were dispatched to the site of the collision in order to investigate and assist injured parties. One or more people required medical care at the scene.
Those with extensive injuries were transported to area hospitals for treatment as necessary. Currently, the extent of any injuries suffered in the wreck has not been reported.
Traffic was delayed in the vicinity of the crash site for some time while responders worked to secure the area. Local drivers commuting on I-595 near Interstate 95 North were asked to find alternative travel routes while crews were active on the roadway.
